About your trainer / consultant
Joanne graduated from the AAA/IAA (International Advertising Association) School of Advertising in 1988, and kick started her career in Client Service as an Account Executive and worked her way up the corporate ladder.
She was Board Director and Head of the Account Management Department at Leo Burnett SA before leaving the industry. Her client experience is broad, across both ATL and BTL portfolio’s, but with extensive experience in FMCG brands: Procter & Gamble, Plascon, Coca Cola, British Airways, LG Electronics, Pillsbury, City Lodge and more. Joanne was a key player in the team that won the McDonald’s account at Leo Burnett in 1999 and spent a further 5 years managing the business.
During her career, Joanne further completed the 3 Year IMM Marketing Management Diploma, further enhancing what she believes are the fundamentals to Account Management, having a comprehensive understanding of the Clients and Brand’s needs.
Training and People Skills
Joanne has a passion for training and mentorship and advocated the same throughout her career. She initiated and implemented in-house training programmes during most of her career and created the Suit Case programme at Sonnenburg Murphy Leo Burnett for the Account Management Department. Joanne further managed the training of AAA students and other internships, during her tenure at various agencies.
In 2009 she assisted as acting MD to set up The Royal Metropole agency for the Coca-Cola 2010 World Cup communications campaigns, and managed a training programme for General Motors SA. During this time, she was also recruited by DDB SA to train and induct the new team on how to run the McDonald’s business.
Agency Wise opened its doors in August 2010.

My first introduction to the company was a training course that I personally attended with my colleagues.
